Tree planting activities as among the primary objective of LEAVE A MARK IN AFRICA, explores, volunteers and interns are prone to planting a minimum of four trees(fruit and natural trees)whether you are traveling for wildlife safari or you are working as a volunteer in one of our our programs LEAVE A MARK IN AFRICA appreciates and acknowledges the impact you will leave on the community and still offers you an even more exciting chance to leave a forever leaving mark on the African soil, imagine planting a tree which will then be engraved with your name and details on it, getting a certificate with the precise location on the area you left a mark and LEAVE A MARK IN AFRICA takes care of the trees for you while updating you on the development of your work ,To see the work of your hands live to bear fruits is a priceless opportunity LEAVE A MARK IN AFRICA offers just that experience, picture as you get an email saying your fruit tree has given birth to its first new babies then  you get a taste of your own work (fruit)/ blend a juice from your own tree or take some fresh fruits back home Indeed you would have lived the moment and at the same time Left your mark on Africa and the world 

Under this WWF fund, the NCEE was able to achieve below listed outcomes;

General Outcomes

This program led to NCEE engagement in the following;

• Participation in the inauguration of the 1,445 km East Africa Crude Oil pipeline Project (EACOP) from Hoima-Uganda to Tanga –Tanzania on 5^th August, 2017 at Chongoleani Tanga.
• NCEE in collaboration with other CSOs; MSOAPO (Mtwara), LANGO (Lindi), Tree of Hope (Tanga), LHRC (Dar es salaam), CRED and GRA from Uganda organized the press conference in Tanga acknowledged on a ground- breaking ceremony and made recommendation on human right and environmental concerns over the pipeline.
• NCEE participated in development of policy recommendations with other coalitions (MANET, MARENGO and SEF-Tanzania) and engagement meetings with the MPs association (TAPAFE) AT Dodoma in February 2018. Also conducted a meeting in September 2018 with the Parliamentary committee for the Energy and Environment and Investment committee. The forum appreciated the recommendation since some were accommodated by the government
• Due to the raising of awareness to communities through the EACOP project on reducing negative environmental, socio-economic and cultural values, NCEE had a chance to meet with EACOP through consultation teams that work with the community on engagement meetings.
• NCEE conducted a radio program in Tanga (TK FM STEREO that reached the local people in a wide range at the time, which increased understanding of the EACOP project by Local communities. 
• Also, the organization conducted 3 special TV programs (JARIDA MARIDHAWA) with Star Television and Radio Free Africa on oil and exploitation and community preparedness as well as government’s commitment. The program was broadcasted country wide.
• NCEE developed a strong relationship with the government through engagement meetings with the Tanga regional office, Mkinga and Tanga District Commissioners, Chumbageni and Mkinga Divisions and LGAs in their respective areas, which resulted in close support from the governmen
• Learning visit to Madimba gas processing plant, waste management company and MRENGO coalition in Lindi.
• NCEE participation to Uganda (Kabaale-Hoima trip) for experience sharing
• The organization attended a training in Norway on best practices and experiences on oil management to both upstream downstream  

NCEE also was a part of a training conducted in Dar es salaam by STATOIL on oil exploitation and extractive process, a knowledge shared with other members of other coalitions.

Specific outcomes

• The magnitude of citizen’s expectations has been regulated to a large extent
• 134 youth were recruited and trained as militia from Chongoleani and the adjacent village of Putini who will be employed for security services along the pipeline.
• 70 youth have been recruited for the fire brigade who will assist in rescue services
• There is minimal number of reported grievances concerning compensation
• Improvement of food vending services (Mama Lishe)

The project covered, three districts of Mkinga, Kilindi and Chongoleani and Putini (Tanga city).

Volunteers are served three meals per day , Breakfast generally consists of chai(tea), boiled egg or fried egg, toast,fruit, deep fried dough. A typical lunch can include meat and vegetables with rice and fruits while dinner usually sees traditional food such as ugali and chapati accompanied with meat and vegetables

Bottled water is available in Tanzania we recommend volunteers to budget at least 5usd per week to get 2litres of water daily

In your free time you can decide to venture out on a safari and see Africa’s big five lions elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos as well as other mind blowing species that call Tanzania home

In Kilimanjaro itself you can take your time to learn about Chang’s tribes, or take a hike at Mt Kilimanjaro, there are also different waterfalls and hot springs close by

In Mwanza, you can take your time to engage in various water sports activities ,visit saa nane island, go fishing at Lake Victoria
